Rev. Robert Baker
Pastor Baker has been the Pastor of FBC Belmont since January 1, 1996. He is the husband of Tammy Oakes Baker, who is the financial secretary at a church and their churchplant in Gastonia, NC. Their son, David, is an Associate Pastor in the Apex/ Cary area, with the focus on youth and evangelism. Pastor Baker graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and an undergraduate degree from Emory & Henry College. In his off time, Pastor Baker likes to read or play his guitar.

Minister of Music
Joshua Adkins
Since February, 2002, Josh has served at First Baptist. He has been involved the church in many ministries, such as the Jubilate Ringers, the Joy Singers, Praise Kids, M&M's music, and establishing the Fine Arts Academy. Josh's wife, Lidia, is a teacher at Gaston College, as well as being a practicing chiropractor. They have two children, Gabriel and Jannine. Josh attended Appalachian State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Music Education, Vocal Performance in Sacred Music, Minor in German). Josh enjoys gardening and landscaping in his free time.

Minister of Youth and Children
Andrew Whisenant
Andrew has served at First Baptist since September, 2008. He has taken the youth on various mission trips, as well as taught the children how to serve where they are. Andrew is married to Jamie, who works at Lifeway Christian Store in Gastonia. Andrew has earned a Bachelor of Science (Major in Bible and Religion, Worldview Studies) from Montreat College, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his free time, he enjoys reading and bowling.
